Caring for your reformer

Caring for Your Formae Fold

Your Formaé Fold has been designed with durability and performance in mind. With simple, regular care, you’ll keep it running smoothly, looking its best, and ensure it lasts for years to come

  • Medical examination table with padded stirrups and adjustable restraints.

    Leather Upholstery

To keep it in the best condition, simply wipe down the leather after each use with a soft damp cloth or a mild soap solution. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based products, or abrasive sponges, as these can cause damage over time.

Regular cleaning not only keeps your reformer looking fresh but also extends the life of the upholstery.

  • Close-up of a laboratory or industrial device with six metal springs and colored circular components, mounted on a black base with small gray adjustment knobs.

    Spring Care

Check springs weekly for any signs of wear, overstretching, or gaps in the coils. Replace immediately if you notice damage.

Wipe springs with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or water, which may weaken the metal and cause rust.

  • Close-up image of a mechanical bed or hospital cot with wheels, metal parts, and adjustable components on a wooden floor.

    Fixture & Fittings

We recommend checking them monthly, tightening where needed to keep your reformer secure. Avoid over-tightening, and if any parts are lost or damaged, replacements are easily available through Formaé - spares are also included in your purchase (so make sure to keep those safe!)

For studios, a yearly professional inspection is advised to ensure everything stays perfectly aligned

  • A medical examination table with leg straps, handrails, and cushioning for patient support.

    Frame & Rails Care

To maintain the smooth glide and polished look of your formaé fold, wipe down the frame and rails regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and sweat.

For a deeper clean, use a damp cloth with mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners or excess water, as these can damage the finish and affect performance. Keeping the rails dust-free ensures a consistently smooth carriage movement and protects the longevity of your reformer.
